Job Description

Lancaster University’s Marketing Team are looking for a Market Research Assistant to support them with two of their projects.

Pay rate: £10.08 per hour + £1.22 holiday pay = £11.30 per hour

Working pattern: 4 hours per week minimum

The first project would require you to work closely with the Market Research Manager to analyse and report data from a recent applicant survey. You would need to draw insightful conclusions from your data analysis to support future recruitment activity.

The second project will involve largely administrative duties, this task will require concentration and attention to detail. The successful candidate will need to have their own computer / laptop.

Person Specification:

  • Familiar with Microsoft Excel
  • Experience of carrying out data analysis
  • Good attention to detail

The data shows responses from three groups of students: UK students, EU students and International students.

Using the data, please complete the following tasks and put your answers on a Word document:

  • Calculate the percentage of each group of students selecting each response.
  • Create a chart to compare the responses of each group of students using the percentage data.
  • Write a short paragraph analysing the data in your chart. This should highlight three key findings from the data.
Please then email the Word document displaying your answers to recruit@lancaster.ac.uk before 2nd January 2019.
