Job Description
Lancaster University’s Marketing Team require a Digital Content Intern to assist the Faculty of Health and Medicine in relaunching their website. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain experience of creating digital content to engage target markets. You should enjoy copywriting and editing, and creating web pages using provided templates. This is opportunity is open to 2018 Lancaster University graduates only.
 
This internship is part of the Graduate Jobs Programme which aims to provide valuable work experience and skills to recent graduates, to help kick-start your career!
 
Pay rate: £19,202 pro rata (£10.08 per hour + £1.22 holiday pay = £11.30 per hour)
Working Pattern: Full time but negotiable
Placement length: Up to 12 weeks

This internship will give you the opportunity to develop your IT skills, in particular, experience of web content management systems (CMS). You will also develop the ability to work on your own initiative, prioritise and manage a diverse workload. You will also gain confidence in communicating with a range of people from a variety of backgrounds.
 
This role will involve:

  • Writing and editing compelling copy for the Faculty website. 
  • Ensuring the consistent, accurate and timely delivery of digital content.
  • Populating web templates using a content management system.
  • Assisting in maintaining the asset bank (images, publications, etc).
  • Monitoring and analysing data, statistics and performance measurements related to website performance (Google Analytics).

Skills you will develop through this role:

  • The ability to present information in an accurate and appropriate format to a variety of audiences, particularly the creation of digital content for the web. 
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Good communication skills with an ability to persuade colleagues and external stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of relevant IT packages including Microsoft Word and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of content management systems (CMS).
  • Monitoring and analysing data, statistics and performance measurements related to marketing activities.
  • Experience of working in higher education with an awareness of issues affecting student recruitment.
