Job Description
Lancaster University Global Experiences team have an opportunity for an intern to create a survey designed to measure the impact of their short term travel opportunities. The survey will then be distributed to past participants so that the long-term success of these trips can be assessed. This is opportunity is open to 2018 Lancaster University graduates only.
 
This internship is part of the Graduate Jobs Programme which aims to provide valuable work experience and skills to recent graduates, to help kick-start your career!
 
Pay rate: £19,202 pro rata (£10.08 per hour + £1.22 holiday pay = £11.30 per hour)
Working Pattern: Full time but negotiable
Placement length: Up to 12 weeks
 
Graduate Jobs Programme projects have been carefully scoped to give you some valuable work experience, in a large world class award winning organisation, help build your network and develop new skills that will stand you in good stead for your next steps and ongoing career success.
 
This project will involve:
  • Pulling together participant data from previous programmes.
  • Working with the Student Success and Outreach teams to design survey questions that will provide useful and relevant data.
  • Working with the Alumni office to match our data up with the current information that is held about the trip participants, and to agree a method of contact.
  • Assessing the data gathered by pulling out basic statistics and identifying any alumni who would make good case studies for future promotional work and funding applications.
 The desired output of this project will be:
  • Quantitative and qualitative feedback from students and alumni who have previously participated in one of our overseas programmes.
  • A report that demonstrates the impact of our programmes with a focus on the areas of student success and retention.
  • bank of case studies which can be used for future promotional activities for our programmes and for building the profile of Lancaster’s global activities and campuses
  • We will also draw on this information when reporting back to external funding bodies, such as Santander Universities

Skills you will develop during this project:

  • Communication in an office environment
  • Self-management
  • Experience in an administrative role with a high level of attention to detail
  • Project planning
  • Communication with a diverse range of people in a professional manner
  • Experience of GDPR
  • IT skills including Microsoft Excel and Qualtrics

Skills required for this project:

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Good attention to detail
