Recruitment and Conversion Graduate Intern
 
 
Pay: £10.08 + £1.12 holiday pay = £11.30 per hour 
Hours: Full Time
Placement Dates:                          End of October until February 2019
 
 

The Faculty of Science and Technology is looking to appoint two graduate interns to support Recruitment and Conversion activity within its departments. This is an exciting opportunity for recent graduates of the University to develop their written communication skills as well as gain an insight into events support.

Departments within the Faculty are looking to increase their conversion activity and provide an individual service to its applicants through the creation of personalised letters and communications. As part of this role, you will be responsible for writing parts of the letters which are sent out to applicants establishing a personal connection with each. You will be highly motivated with an ability to work efficiently both on your own and as part of a team and have a keen eye for detail.

Working closely with the Recruitment, Conversion and Marketing Coordinators within each department you will also provide events support for the Applicant Visit Days which sees a large number of applicants visit the University and also be involved in marketing activity.

Job Role

  • To support departments with the development of personalised applicant offer letters and communications by extracting important information from UCAS applications and personal statements.
  • To provide support to the Recruitment, Conversion and Marketing Coordinators within each department with the planning and delivery of conversion events such as Applicant Visit Days
  • To provide support to the Recruitment, Conversion and Marketing Coordinators within each department with marketing activities
  • Any other duties as deemed appropriate by the Faculty of Science and Technology Recruitment and Outreach Team

 

Person specification

  • Lancaster University graduate (Essential)
  • To work effectively as part of a team and also at times individually (Essential)
  • Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal (Essential)
  • Attention to detail (Essential)
  • Ability to prioritise workload (Essential)
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel (Essential)
  • Flexible approach to working (Essential)
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges (Essential)
