Job Description

Sales & Marketing Internship

Location:        Preston

Hours:             3 or 4 days per week 8:30 am - 5:00 pm

Duration:        To start ASAP for 140 hours

Rate:               £7.50 per hour plus holiday pay (£8.41 per hour total)

This position is funded by the European Regional Development Fund – Unite Plus program

The Business Clinic supports businesses young and old with a wide range of support, training and consultancy needs. Based close to Preston docks, the Clinic provides peer-working surgeries bringing together business owners from a variety of sectors. The organisation was launched in 2013 and has steadily grown in that time, with its own designated office space and a team of 4 full time staff.

The organisation is now looking to recruit an intern to support in sales and marketing through the Unite Plus project. Following the successful completion of the project there may be the opportunity for advancement and a full-time position for the right candidate (5 days per week).  Due to the time commitment required the ideal candidate will be a recent graduate - not a current student.

Job description

  • Assist with the development of sales and marketing activities and campaigns.

  • To support the growth of the group of companies and the various services.

  • Undertake calls to potential companies to generate new engagements across all services.

  • Assist with create campaigns for the group of companies.

  • To make appointments and assist sales across all services.

  • Listening to customer requirements and presenting appropriately to assist sales across all services.

  • Maintaining and developing relationships with existing customers in person and via telephone calls, emails and events.

  • Responding to incoming email and telephone enquiries.

  • Cleanse and review data base files and processes to provide clarity and a measurement of success (sales funnel).

  • Complete the internship task logs/ reports on time to meet the requirements of the funding body.
