Role & Department Overview

The Law School is taking part in the successful national School Tasking initiative based on the popular Taskmaster TV series starring Alex Horne - Taskmaster TV.

We are recruiting law students from widening participation backgrounds (those backgrounds that are under-represented in university, for example, students from racially minoritised groups, students from low-income backgrounds, students with disabilities etc.) to be School Tasking Ambassadors.

School Tasking Ambassadors work in teams of four to teach sessions on law every fortnight through the Lent Term to year 5 children (aged 9-10) in local primary schools where many of the children come from low-income households.  Children compete in teams within local heats, with winners selected to progress to a regional, and then a national final.  In the sessions, they engage in activities where they learn legal knowledge and skills, and complete fun, interactive, team-based tasks based on the Taskmaster TV format.

Please see the video link for more information about School Tasking - Warwick University - School Tasking: a new approach to WP .

There are 20 Ambassador posts available and successful applicants will receive training on how to deliver the School Tasking sessions effectively.  The Law School also provides an employability training programme to support students to make the most of the skills they develop through School Tasking to help improve their graduate career prospects.  Students will be paid for the time involved in campus-based training sessions and primary-school based delivery of School Tasking classes.
