Role & Department Overview

As the Sustainability Marketing Intern, you will join a team of marketing, communications and recruitment professionals tasked with ensuring that Lancaster’s brand and messages resonate with our community and stakeholders.
 
This role is designed to give you real marketing experience in the University's central Marketing Office, and contribute to our submission in the Times Higher Education Impact Ratings 2026
 

Pay Rate: £12.71 per hour plus £1.53 holiday pay

Start Date: 27th October 2026

End Date: 30th October 2026

Job Description

This role will focus on supporting the Brand Manager and Marketing and Communications Officer in the 2026 submission of the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rating.
 
Your main duties will be:
 
  • summarising and writing information (copy) in support of our submission
  • uploading information to the Lancaster University website
  • presenting information in the optimum way for the target audience (THE)
What will you get out of this role:

  • hands on experience of using a website content management system (CMS)

Person Specification

 The successful candidate should:
 
  • have good written and verbal communication skills so they can summarise information and write copy for the website to ensure it fulfils the necessary criteria.
  • have an interest in marketing and website content development
  • be a self-starter who can complete tasks independently once training has been provided
  • be able to work well with others and ask questions when support is needed
  • a positive and enthusiastic approach to work.
No previous marketing work experience is required.
