Job Title: Student Ambassador (Faculty of Humanities, Arts & Social Sciences)
Salary: £12.71 plus £1.53 holiday pay (£14.24 per hour)
Department: Faculty of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences
Directly responsible to: FHASS Events Team, Student Staff Manager
Start Date: 01 December 2026
End Date: 31 October 2027
Interview: Interviews are to be held during the week 02 - 04 November 2026.
Location: You will be based predominantly on campus

As a Student Ambassador, you will have the exciting opportunity to represent your discipline, and the University, engage with prospective students, and be a vital part of our ambassador community. Your responsibilities will include sharing your personal experiences through participation in events, webinars and talks by presenting and speaking to prospective students and their guests.

You will be joining the Faculty of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences (FHASS) events team, who lead activities such as the Open Day events, Offer Holder Events, personalised visits, subject facility tours and online outreach activities. You will work closely with departments and other central University teams on an ad-hoc basis.
This role is open to all students studying a subject within FHASS, and we would encourage applications from anyone currently studying at Undergraduate level within FHASS. Full training in all aspects of the role will be provided, and you will be briefed before every event.
You must also be available to work 3 out of the 4 Offer Holder Events and 3 out of the 4 Undergraduate Open Day Events on the following dates*:
Saturday 27 February 2027
Saturday 11 September 2027
*We will try our best to allocate you to your preferred dates, but this may not be possible due to availability. Please note that the dates for Open Days may change.
For any dates not in term time, we are able to book trains on your behalf and provide accommodation when travelling from a considerable distance and you have informed us with notice. **
**Accommodation and travel are on a first-come, first-served basis and is only available for those travelling a considerable distance within the UK and within a set cost.
