An exciting opportunity has arisen to become part of the campus Accommodation student ambassador team.  

The Accommodation team are looking for between 50-100 undergraduate student ambassadors to join their team. You will be friendly, reliable and engaging with a real passion for Lancaster University. You need to live on campus for the 26/27 academic year in Undergraduate accommodation (ideally already in a show flat) and be willing to show off your room and flat to visiting prospective students and parents/guardians during offer holder events and Open Days. 

Please note that not all room types are shown during these events, so all applications are subject to review as some students will unfortunately not be eligible for this position.

Job Description

  Main responsibilities:
  • Talking with enthusiasm to prospective students/parents/guardians about your experience of living on campus and how you made your choices.
  •  Answering questions that visitors may have about the accommodation and/or College professionally and positively and share personal experiences of life on campus. 
  •  Working with your flat mates to keep your accommodation clean and tidy and suitable for visitors during events.
  •  Being available at agreed times in your accommodation, including occasional weekends, as part of Offer Holder Events, campus tours, Open Days and other adhoc visits.  
  •  Provide high quality accommodation tours to prospective students and their parents/guardians and students on school visits.
  •  Create digital promotional content of the accommodation.
  •  To attend compulsory training sessions where required. 
  •  Any other duties as may reasonably be required by the Accommodation team. 

Person Specification

 
  • Candidates must be a full time Undergraduate student.
  •  It is a requirement of the role that the student should be residing in undergraduate accommodation on campus for the 26/27 academic year, in either a cluster flat or townhouse style accommodation (not self-contained accommodation ie Studio).
  •  Strong verbal communication and listening skills; able to communicate with a diverse range of people.
  •  Engaging personality and interpersonal skills.
  •  Willingness and ability to keep living environment clean and tidy.
  •  Ability to organise and prioritise.
  •  Ability to work as a team and independently.
  •  Flexible in working variety of shifts.
  •  Reliable and punctual.
  •  Enjoyment of working with and an understanding of prospective students e.g. showing empathy and appreciation of their situation.
