Role & Department Overview

We are hiring a Research and Engagement Team Assistant to assist in our work of supporting all departments and research centres in the Faculty of Science and Technology with research and impact. This will involve a substantial amount of liaising with different stakeholders, and transforming academic writing into news articles, blogs, and social media posts. The team also complete a wide range of additional projects - from running public engagement events to supporting departmental messaging around research - so there will be some variety in tasks and experience to get involved in.
 
Preferred Start Date: 21st July 2026
Expected End Date: 2nd October 2026
Working Pattern: 36.5 Hours per week
Location: On the Lancaster University Campus

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:
  • Write content for news articles and blogs
  • Write content for social media
  • Publish articles, blogs and events onto the University website
  • Work with multiple stakeholders and communicate effectively with them
  • Design elements for use in online and print media in Canva
  • Liaise with areas of the University including catering, departmental representatives and Press to support the team goals 
  • Support event planning for research centres and departments
  • Create presentations and visual media to support dissemination of information
