Role & Department Overview

SJH Food Solutions Ltd is looking for a highly organised, professional and flexible Personal Assistant to support the business owner and overseas business partner based in Lancaster.

This is a varied and fast-paced role in a growing Global  Food Group suited to someone confident working in a professional business environment, capable of handling daily administration, paperwork, communication and general assistance duties.

The successful candidate will play an important role supporting day-to-day operations, helping coordinate meetings, managing tasks and assisting with communication in English for an overseas business partner.

Flexibility, discretion and a positive attitude are essential.

Working Hours

  • Approximately 20 hours per week
  • Fully flexible working arrangement
  • Possibility of Overseas Travel and business events
  • Some variation in hours may be required depending on business needs

Job Description

  • Providing personal and administrative support to senior management
  • Assisting an overseas business partner with English communication and daily business activities
  • Managing diaries, appointments and meeting schedules
  • Assisting with emails, paperwork and document preparation
  • Liaising with suppliers, customers and professional contacts
  • Supporting with travel arrangements and local coordination
  • General office administration and filing duties
  • Assisting with business projects and day-to-day operational tasks
  • Running occasional errands and providing practical support where required
  • Supporting meetings and taking notes when necessary

Person Specification

  • Excellent spoken and written English
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Professional, trustworthy and discreet
  • Confident using Microsoft Office, email and general computer systems
  • Ability to work independently and use initiative
  • Friendly, approachable and adaptable personality
  • Full UK driving licence with vehicle
  • Flexible approach to working hours and duties,
  • Previous PA, administration, office or customer service experience preferred

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in an administrative or office assistant role.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting software is desirable but not essential
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Excellent typing speed and data entry accuracy.
  • Good phone etiquette and professional communication skills.
  • Demonstrated clerical experience supporting busy executives or teams.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining a high level of professionalism. This position is ideal for a motivated individual seeking to utilise their organisational talents within a supportive team environment.
