Role & Department Overview

The Events Crew Supervisor is a key leadership role within the Students’ Union’s Events Team, supporting the delivery of a wide range of events that help build community, belonging, and engagement across campus. The Events Team delivers everything from Welcome Week and Freshers' Fair to society showcases, campaigns, workshops, and social activities, working closely with student groups, university departments, and external partners.

As a Supervisor, you’ll lead Events Crew Members during set‑ups, live events, and de‑rigs, ensuring operations run smoothly, safely, and to a high standard. You’ll act as a main point of contact during events, helping to solve problems quickly, maintain a positive atmosphere, and provide excellent customer service to students, staff, and visitors.

A key part of the role is managing event support requests — responding to queries from student groups, staff, and partners, coordinating the right support, and ensuring requests are completed efficiently and professionally. This includes everything from technical assistance to equipment needs, and general event troubleshooting.

We are recruiting three Supervisors, including one Technical Supervisor who will take a lead on sound, lighting, and AV support. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands‑on work, thrives in a fast‑paced environment, and wants to help create memorable, inclusive experiences for students.
