Role & Department Overview

In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating the production of professional marketing collateral to support recruitment to the University’s postgraduate degree courses. Working as a member of the Marketing Office, you will work closely with staff from a range of areas across the University to develop a bank of marketing assets, copy and campaign messaging for use across various marketing channels, with a focus on international audiences.

Job Description

  • Work closely with programme and faculty staff to identify degree programme USPs and key target markets;
  • Work closely with international and UK student recruitment staff to understand the key information needs of prospective students;
  • Undertake a gap analysis assessment of existing recruitment materials to identify where key USPs or information might be missing;
  • Repurpose information from a range of existing faculty or departmental collateral to update and tailor messaging for different audiences;
  • Update existing and develop new digital and offline collateral which may include slide decks, social media assets, digital display artwork, exhibition banners, posters and leaflets;
  • Support the creation and development of email communications for key stakeholders including international recruitment agents and international school counsellors; 
  • Collate content from a range of key stakeholders and manage sign-off and approvals processes; 
  • Ensure all collateral is compliant with appropriate accessibility requirements and consistent with University brand guidelines; 
  • Ensure all information contained within collateral is accurate, evidenced and clear, applying knowledge of UK advertising standards and consumer protection legislation (full training will be provided); 
  • Write and edit persuasive copy of a professional standard for both print and digital channels. 

Person Specification

  • An excellent attention to detail with an ability to present written and visual information in an accurate and appropriate format 
  • Demonstrable experience of working on creative projects to create visually appealing digital or printed assets which convey marketing information 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to communicate face-to-face and by email with tact and diplomacy 
  • The ability to solve problems with own initiative but recognise where escalation is appropriate 
  • Excellent working knowledge of presentation software such as MS PowerPoint or Google Slides 
  • Experience of using professional graphic design software (Adobe Creative Suite, Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) is desirable 
  • Experience of working within brand or visual identity guidelines is desirable 
  • Experience of working with professional graphic designers and print houses, including proofing and print management processes is desirable
