Role & Department Overview

The postholder will continue to provide administrative support to the Careers and Employer Engagement Team throughout the busy Michaelmas term as previously done earlier on this year. 

Duties will include: monitoring the Future Talent mailbox which is the dedicated inbox for graduate employer queries.  The role-holder will be a first point of contact offering a professional first impression of the service through triaging queries from employers in a timely manner, responding where possible and forwarding on as appropriate.   

They will also be responsible for adding employer information and events to our CRM, CareersConnect, and sending targeted emails to students to promote employer-led events.  They will also be responsible for updating social media and marketing materials. 

The role-holder will to support in-person Careers Events on campus, in particular the large-scale October Careers Fair, Law Event, Placement event, sector panels and all skills sessions that run throughout term.  

The post holder may be asked to work with the Mentoring Officer to assist with administration tasks/email and assist with some carrying of equipment and with the Mentoring Launch programme in November. 

This person must be able to lift, move and carry heavy items for this post to assist the Employer Engagement Officer.

Expected End Date: 7th December 2026
Working Pattern: 10 Hours per week
Location: On the Lancaster University Campus and Remotely

Job Description

  • Monitoring the Future Talent mailbox on a daily basis. 
  • Actively responding to queries where appropriate  
  • Uploading graduate job opportunities and employer events to CareersConnect platform used by students to book attendance at events and search for opportunities.   
  • Support marketing for both onsite events and virtual events, including targeted promotional emailing to students. 
  • Updating social media  
  • Be available to support on-site employer-led events which includes meeting employers and taking them to the event venue, supporting their IT requirements, taking student registers, introducing the employer and troubleshooting when required.   
  • Be able to lift, carry and move furniture or other equipment when needed
