Role & Department Overview

The Admissions team, based in the External Relations division, supports those who wish to study at the University, responding to enquiries and supporting applicants through the process from application through to registration. 
 
 We are looking to recruit two Admissions Co-ordinators to support the team with enquiries and application processes during our busy summer period. This role will focus on supporting the team with the CAS and Visa process for international students, but will also be involved in more general admissions processes.
 
This post is advertised as full-time (36.5 hours per week). We may have some flexibility with the exact pattern of hours, however we will expect you to be available for our most critical period between Friday 7 August and Friday 14 August. 
 
Preferred start date: 22nd of June 2026
 
Expected end date: 18th of September 2026
 
 Interview date: Likely to be w/c 15th of June
 
 Weekly hours: 36.5 hours per week 
 
 Location:  On campus, with some opportunity to work from home

Job Description

Main Responsibilities:
 
  • To support the Admissions team with the CAS process for international students, creating and maintaining records in our
  • Admissions systems and communicating with applicants as appropriate
  • To reply to standard enquiries in a timely manner, and to triage non-standard enquiries on a daily basis
  • To assist with advising applicants on various areas of the admissions process
  • To process applications to the University efficiently, with a focus on process relating to CAS and visa checks
  • To provide support for the admissions process, acting as the first point of contact for applicants via email and telephone
  • To be responsible for sending out appropriate correspondence to applicants in relation to the above processes
  • To undertake any other duties appropriate to the grade of the post, as required by the Head of Admissions or their delegate

Person Specification

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented individual with the following skills:
 
  • Ability to work with a high degree of accuracy and close attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a busy team, and also work independently when required
  • Excellent literacy and written and verbal communication skills
  • Good customer service skills, and the ability to deal with people in a professional, friendly and supportive manner
  • Experience of using a range of standard IT applications including Microsoft Excel, and the ability to learn new software applications
  • Experience of working in an an administrative role in a similar environment would be desirable but not essential. We are also interested in considering individuals who perhaps do not have direct experience, but who can clearly demonstrate that they have the necessary skills.
