Role & Department Overview

Working closely with other members of the operational procurement team, you will provide a high level of support to our diverse academic and research departments. Your main role will be to undertake the order processing activity including understanding customer needs, processing requisitions and expediting deliveries.
 

Pay Rate: £13.70 per hour plus £1.65 holiday pay

Start Date: 25th May 2026

End Date: 31st July 2026

Interview Date: 22nd May 2026

Job Description

Determine whether the purchase should be made with a Procurement Card and action as appropriate.
Validate data as necessary and update the supplier master file in accordance with the regulations regarding fraud.
Bank checks over the phone so telephone skills required.
Contact suppliers and users for missing information.
Purchase Order Processing.

  • Effective numeracy, literacy and word processing skills
  • Experience of working accurately and with a keen eye for detail when working to deadlines
  • Ability to build relationships with people/customers
  • Ability to work in a team and have a flexible approach to work and colleagues
  • Good communication skills
