External Relations Student Ambassador 2026/27
Become a Lancaster Student Ambassador! We are now recruiting for our 2026/27 Student Ambassadors and are inviting all current students, both UG and PG, to apply to join the External Relations team to support our events.
Job Title: ER Student Ambassador (External Relations)
Salary: £12.71 plus £1.53 holiday pay (£14.24 per hour)

Directly responsible to: Student Staff Manager
Start Date: 1st June 2026
End Date: 30th September 2027
Interview: Group interviews are to be held during the week commencing 11th May. You may be asked to come back for a 1-1 interview.
Location: You will be based on campus, with optional opportunities to travel across the UK to support various student recruitment events.

Your responsibilities will include sharing your personal experiences, leading campus tours, participating in student recruitment events, and providing valuable insights to prospective students and guests. You will be joining the External Relations (ER) Events team, who lead activities such as the Open Day events, Offer Holder Events, International Student Arrivals, Campus Tours and online outreach activities. There are also opportunities to work with other departments across the University on an ad-hoc basis.
This role is open to all current students, and we would encourage First Years and anyone planning to stay at Lancaster for postgraduate study to apply. Full training in all aspects of the role will be provided.
Successful candidates must be available to:
Attend the mandatory training session on Saturday 6th June, 9am-3pm.
Work at least 3 out of the 4 Undergraduate Open Days that are held on Saturdays in June, July, September and October 2026*:
Work at least 5 out of the 10 Undergraduate Offer Holder Events that are held on Saturdays from January to April 2027
We will try our best to allocate you to your preferred dates, however, this may not be possible due to availability.
*For any dates not in term time, we may be able to cover travel to Lancaster from your home location (UK mainland only) and/or on-campus accommodation if required.
