Role & Department Overview

Please note that this is a student role.

The Morecambe Bay Curriculum is a community-curated, place-based approach to learning about sustainability - encouraging and empowering children and young people to become the change-makers and innovators our planet needs. It aims to ensure that all stages of the education system, from early years to further education, provide the green skills, knowledge, and behaviours required by businesses, and our communities, to respond to climate change. The MBC is supported and delivered by teachers, early years practitioners, researchers, health professionals and community leaders who recognise that a collective approach is critical to tackling the climate emergency and creating opportunities for young people.

The Morecambe Bay Curriculum Event Assistant will provide support to the MBC team with the organisation and running of the annual Morecambe Bay Curriculum conference which will be held in Lancaster University's Great Hall on Friday 3rd July 2026 (09:00-16:30). Around 250 participants from early years settings, primary and secondary schools, further education colleges, universities, councils, and community/environmental organisations from around Lancashire and Cumbria are expected to attend for an inspirational day of talks, workshops, stalls and networking.
