FHASS-Exclusive Internship: Video Recording and Editing Intern (x2)

Shakespeare and His Sisters on Site looks at the parallels between plays by Shakespeare and by women dramatists of the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. It does so by recreating site specific performances in historic great households or castles, spaces beyond commercial theatres like the Globe.  How does such a venue change the performance? Virginia Woolf famously declared that no sister of Shakespeare would have been able to write drama for the professional stage but this was not the case in alternative theatrical spaces. Shakespeare and His Sisters explores an alternative theatrical tradition of drama by Shakespeare and by women playwrights and actors of his day. 

In this internship you will be recording selected rehearsals, interviews, and public performances of the Shakespeare Showcase at Lancaster Castle and editing material for the Shakespeare and His Sisters website. We are recruiting two interns to this role.

Main duties:

•  To work collaboratively with Alison Findlay and the lead intern in recording interviews and performances of the Shakespeare Showcase Macbeth, Troilus and Cressida, Twelfth Night, Coriolanus on campus and at Lancaster Castle on 22-23 May as directed.
•  Taking still photographs of actors in costume
•  To edit recordings as directed and upload images as directed to e-stream and to the Shakespeare and His Sisters website
