The Digital Content Ambassador Programme is a key initiative designed to enhance student recruitment, outreach, and engagement through online platforms. By creating authentic, engaging, and creative digital content, ambassadors help showcase student life, academic opportunities, and the wider Lancaster experience to prospective students and their supporters.

As a Digital Content Ambassador, you will represent your department and the wider university across digital channels, particularly social media. You will support marketing campaigns and recruitment activity by producing content that reflects your authentic student perspective, while gaining valuable experience in digital marketing, communications, and creative media

Pay Rate: £12.21 per hour plus £1.47 holiday pay

Job Description

Digital Content Creation
 
  • Produce high-quality content for university and departmental social media channels (e.g. Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, LinkedIn).
  • Contribute to campaign planning by generating creative ideas that align with recruitment and marketing goals.
  • Create blogs, vlogs, short videos, photography, and written content to share your experiences of student life, your subject, and Lancaster University.
  • Ensure content reflects Lancaster’s brand values and provides an authentic, welcoming student voice.
Marketing Support
 
  • Support the delivery of digital campaigns promoting open days, offer-holder events, outreach, and student life.
  • Monitor trends and engagement across student-facing platforms to suggest new approaches and ideas.
Community Engagement
 
  • Interact with prospective students in a friendly, professional, and supportive manner via online platforms.
  • Respond to comments and questions where appropriate, providing insight into student life at Lancaster.
  • Share your authentic experience to help prospective students feel informed, included, and confident about their choices. 

Person Specification

We are looking for enthusiastic, creative, and reliable students who can:
 
  • Demonstrate strong interest in social media, content creation, and digital storytelling.
  • Show good knowledge of Lancaster University, student life, and departmental opportunities.
  • Communicate clearly, creatively, and confidently to a wide range of audiences.
  • Work independently, manage deadlines, and take initiative with content ideas.
  • Be adaptable, organised, and able to respond quickly to changing tasks or campaign needs.
  • Uphold Lancaster University’s values in all online activity.
