Job Title: Supporter Engagement Assistant
Department / Team: Philanthropy, Alumni & Supporter Engagement (PASE)
Reports to: Caroline Costello (Deputy Head of Philanthropy)
Location: Lancaster University / Home working
Hours / Contract: £12.71 per hour (37.5 hours per week)

Purpose of the Role:
To provide administrative and operational support to the Philanthropy & Alumni teams, helping to deliver core activities that engage alumni and supporters and generate philanthropic support for the University.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support telephone fundraising campaign, including administration and data management.
  • Assist with the Defying Dementia fundraising campaign, including coordination of fundraising activity and reporting tasks.
  • Contribute to web content management, including updates, design support, and creating engaging content for online platforms.
  • Generate written and multi-media content for fundraising and alumni engagement purposes, ensuring content is compelling and suitable for print and online audiences.
  • Provide support for events, including planning, administration, and on-the-day coordination.
  • Maintain accurate records and assist with reporting as required.
  • Work collaboratively across the PASE team to support other projects as needed.

Person Specification

Skills, Experience & Qualifications:

  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience creating engaging copy for online and print.
  • Attention to detail, particularly in administration and data management.
  • Experience with event coordination and support.
  • Basic understanding of web content management or willingness to learn (e.g., updating web pages, creating content).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and digital communication tools.
  • Interest in philanthropy and alumni engagement and its importance in a university setting.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Previous experience in a similar administrative, marketing, or fundraising support role is desirable but not essential.
