The Student Programme Administration Assessment and Awards Team are currently recruiting an Exam Assistant.  The Exam Assistant will support the Assessment and Awards team in the smooth running of the University Undergraduate exams.

This is an important position, and the Exam Assistant will be expected to quickly develop a comprehensive understanding of Lancaster University’s examination guidelines and procedures. You will work alongside the Assessment and Awards team to accurately prepare, collate and distribute exam materials to our pool of invigilators.

 

Start Date: 13th April 2026

End Date: 20th June 2026

 

This is a full-time (temporary) position based at Lancaster’s Bailrigg campus. Hours of work will be Monday – Friday 8am – 5pm (sometimes 6pm). Full training will be provided.

Previous experience within an educational establishment is desirable.

Job Description

 The Exams Assistant would deal with:
  • the collation and distribution of exam papers to invigilators assigned to each of the venues,
  • ensure main venue and AEA scripts are available for departmental collection within agreed timeframes
  • Provide the venue seating plans, additional materials (calculators, graph paper, etc.) and ensure invigilators are briefed about any additional requirements in advance of each exam.
