Role & Department Overview

The Digital Learning Team sits within the wider Digital Adoption group in ISS and supports all the digital learning systems, including Moodle, Turnitin and Panopto. In September 2026, in support of the wider institutional Curriculum Transformation Programme (CTP), ISS have developed a new consistent Moodle template which all 26/27 (and beyond) modules must adhere to. This will enhance the student experience by providing a consistent and accessible baseline from which module content can be published.
 
This role is to support the Digital Adoption team to rollout these new Module templates on Moodle across all faculties and some 1300 individual modules. This will include working with academics to customise faculty level module templates for consistency, rebuild their modules on Moodle, ensuring accessible and engaging course content.
 
Start Date: 2 March 2026
End Date: 30 September 2026
Location: Remotely (in the UK) and on the Lancaster University campus
Working Pattern: 10 hours/week

Job Description

  • Rebuild modules on Moodle, ensuring consistent accessible and engaging course content
  • Directly support academic staff in adoption of the new Moodle Module Template
  • Indirectly support academic staff in adoption of the new Moodle module template by producing training materials
  •  Support academic staff in creation of accessible content for their modules
  •  Document the steps in rebuilding courses and making content accessible for use by the wider project team 
  • Evaluate new Moodle Module sites' setup and associated content in line with programme or departmental specification 

Person Specification

  • Strong organizational and digital content management skills
  • Experience working with online learning or content management platforms
