The Dukes is a home for artists to create and connect; they reach out beyond their building into communities and new spaces, and through working with their partnerships, put culture and the arts at the heart of the Lancaster City region.
The Dukes are committed to:
• Representing their audiences by delivering a professional quality experience for all

Join The Dukes as an intern and work alongside the Creative Communities Coordinator for a new phase of Prime Time, their drama group for those over 60. Prime Time is for community members 60+ who want to meet up with like-minded people, looking for creative opportunities and new experiences.
With 3 terms throughout the year, the weekly sessions include acting, performance, script writing, directing and theatre technology and participants are offered opportunities to perform at showcase events.
From April 2026 there will become two Prime Time groups, one project based and one performance based. The intern will be working with the Creative Communities Coordinator in the performance group, but there could be crossover to work with the Older People’s Coordinator and the project group.
The intern’s role is to support sessions and complete tasks given by the Creative Communities team. You will also be there to support their members during sessions as they aim to make being part of Prime Time as accessible as possible.
