Role & Department Overview

We are looking for a current Lancaster University postgraduate student to join the project team, on a flexible part-time basis from February 2026.

Working Pattern: Flexible, 23 hours total
Location: Remotely (in the UK) and on the Lancaster University campus

Job Description

The School Tasking project team is gathering data from key stakeholders nationally on the impact of School Tasking on the law students delivering sessions in their local outreach primary schools over a three-year period.  We are in year two of this period.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Supporting the project team with the logistics of data collection for 2025-26 from a range of key stakeholders
  • Summarising relevant academic literature to support academic publications
  • Undertaking data analysis for 2025-26
  • Writing an interim research report to identify emerging findings and common themes
  • Writing research reports for the other universities on impact on their law students
  • Supporting the project team with other tasks as needed

Person Specification

Essential:

  • Postgraduate student enrolled at Lancaster University
  • Excellent research skills to identify and summarise relevant academic literature
  • Strong data analysis skills with respect to both quantitative and qualitative data
  • Excellent written communication skills - ability to summarise and communicate complex information in a straightforward way
  • Excellent IT skills (including Microsoft Word, and appropriate data analysis software)
  • Ability to work independently to complete tasks and to manage time effectively to meet deadlines
  • Reliable, accurate, and organised.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team

  • Able to explain why you are interested in the School Tasking Project and in this role.
