Role & Department Overview

Please note: this internship is only available to current students registered on a degree scheme in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences at Lancaster University.  If you apply for this role the information within your application will be shared with the recruiting organisation.

Feather Tree Arts are developing a brand-new format of social entertainment: merging artificial reality, game engines and social media with traditional community storytelling. They aim to use this format to explore ideas of diversity and mental health, to help everyone learn alongside characters.

With their government-funded prototype ready for launch, crowd funding and social comms strategies defined, and their first performance ready to go (with more performances planned), Feather Tree Arts are entering an exciting new phase of their business development plan – and they want you to be part of their journey as they plan more productions and grow their offering. As a Story and Format Development intern, you’ll play a key role in:

● Honing your understanding of the new story format they are developing.

● Engaging with their audience.

● Produce your own story, including idea generation, character and story development, script writing, performer recruitment, and telling the story live to audiences. The story you develop will also be edited together into a single short film and shared on their YouTube after the performance in our app.

Please submit a CV (maximum of two sides) and a Cover Letter (maximum one side) both tailored to the role.
