Role & Department Overview

The Employment and Recruitment Service (ERS) recruit for a range of part-time and temporary positions at Lancaster University and within the local community.

Our aim is to help Lancaster University students develop employment skills through a variety work opportunities.

Working as Admin Support, you will provide administrative support to the ERS team on high volume recruitment, as well as answer queries from students and managers. 

In addition, you will assist with right to work checking appointments, which form part of a 'Welcome to Lancaster University' induction, designed to ensure that our new starters have all the information they need before commencing their new role. 

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys liaising with customers or clients, with good administration and organisation skills, who also has a keen eye for detail! 

Training will be provided to support you in learning the skills required in the role. The professional skills you will develop working with the team will be highly transferable to future graduate employment.

Job Description

  • Responding to queries 

  • Supporting the ERS team on recruitment administration and systems maintenance 

  • Representing the team at ERS Drop-Ins and Pop-Ups: providing an outstanding front-line service to students

  • Keeping records up to date on our system

  • Conduct Right to Work appointments for new starters to the Employment & Recruitment Service in person at the Lancaster University campus as well as digitally over Teams

  • Ensure an effective, efficient and compliant checking of documentation takes place for the purposes of Right to Work

  • Provide a short induction for new starters at the time of the appointment

  • Undertake post appointment administration 

Person Specification
