Role & Department Overview

The LUSU Crew Events Team Member plays a key role in the planning, promotion, and delivery of events and activities on campus. This position offers an opportunity to develop leadership, event management, and teamwork skills while enhancing the student experience for the broader campus community.
 
  • Support the planning, setup, execution, and breakdown of campus events (e.g. fairs, performances, workshops, open days).

  •  Provide a friendly, welcoming, and helpful presence at events.

  • Monitor event logistics (e.g. managing attendee lists, guiding participants, helping with AV setup).

  • Ensure events are inclusive, safe, and aligned with university policies.

  • Help gather feedback and evaluations from attendees after events.

  • Serve as an ambassador for the Student Union promoting student engagement opportunities.

  • Participate in training sessions and team meetings as required.

Pay Rate: £12.21 per hour plus £1.47 holiday pay

Job Description

Essential:

  • Experience working as part of a team

Desirable:

  • Previous involvement in event planning or delivery (e.g., in school, community, or student societies)

  • Customer service or other front-facing experience 


Skills & Abilities

Essential:

  • Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to follow instructions and take initiative when needed

  • Good time management and punctuality

  • Ability to stay calm and focused under pressure

  • Confidence in engaging with a wide range of students

  • Basic IT skills (e.g., email, Microsoft Office, Google Suite)
