Role & Department Overview

Join the Lancaster Campus Life social media team to highlight the student experience and create content for University-owned food and drink outlets on campus.

We’re looking to work with the best content creators who keep up to date with trends in digital storytelling and can use this to provide current students with content to enhance their experience on campus.

With a focus on food, drink, and events on campus, the content creators will communicate and engage with our market on Instagram, support brand reputation, and ultimately boost sales and engagement across the venues.

How you’ll work

  • You will work an average of 6 hours per week (during term time), creating content to promote the student experience and food and drink offer on campus.
  • You will meet fortnightly with the Marketing & Communications Coordinator to discuss upcoming content and any pre-agreed briefs around promotional campaigns, events, and new product or menu launches.
  • You will use 2-3 hours of your weekly allowance visiting the outlets on campus to capture video and imagery of the products on offer; e.g. breakfast, lunch, evening drinks, open mic nights, etc.
  • During content shoots, you will work with the outlet managers to identify any new products or promotions to craft content on.
  • You will collaborate with the Lancaster Campus Life team by sharing all raw and edited content in Microsoft Teams, as well as sharing ideas and best practices in fortnightly team meetings with the Marketing & Communications Coordinator.
  • Your content will focus more on engagement rather than showcasing products alone.

To apply please send a CV and cover letter in your application, covering the following points:

  • Name
  • Course
  • Year of study
  • A portfolio of previous content that you have created. This could be a link to an Instagram/TikTok or other digital channel that you manage (if your IG is private, please accept a follow request from @lancsunicampuslife)
  • Send links to three brands on Instagram that you would take inspiration from in the role, and the reasons behind your choice.

Preferred start date: 29th of September 2025

Expected end date: 19th of December 2025

Interview date: 9th of September 2025
