The Student Wellbeing Partnership Service offers early intervention support to students to develop social networks, build their confidence and skills in managing their wellbeing, and help with access to university life. The team offers a range of provision designed to support students, including 1:1 wellbeing advice, wellbeing projects, social events, workshops, and pre-arrival support.
As a Wellbeing Ambassador you will work in partnership with the Student Wellbeing Service to help students build knowledge and understanding of student wellbeing services, and how to access support. You will offer knowledge, experience, practical and social support, information, tips and signposting on a range of wellbeing issues, through in-person peer support or activity and also through the development of digital resources and awareness campaigns. You will also be involved in creating content for social media and other online platforms.
You will be required to complete a blend of online and in person training to undertake the role, and to engage in supervision to support you throughout the academic year.
These roles are funded through widening participation and so we actively welcome applications from a wide range of students, including, neuro-diverse, independent students (care experienced, care leavers, estranged students), mature students, students with disabilities, international students, and Black, Asian, and Ethnic Minority students.
Hours of work
Each ambassador is funded to provide up to 32 hours of engagement activity across the academic year. This will be delivered between 9-5pm, Monday-Friday throughout term-time, or as agreed with the Student Wellbeing Partnership Service.
The minimum availability requirement is 2hrs availability per week. Student wellbeing ambassadors can request to work above this requirement subject to agreement with the Student Wellbeing Partnership Service.
