We are searching for a Marketing Assistant, to play a role in our creative and forward-thinking team. The main purpose of this role is to help develop and support new innovation products as we develop and release them.

Job Description

Main responsibilities: 

  • Designing materials attractive to students and graduates; formatting documents; creative preparation of online and social media campaigns and written communication.
  • Preparation of reports and spreadsheets; preparation of marketing materials and slides for plasma screens. 
  • Communicate effectively with other members of the team to ensure that a coordinated and efficient service is provided.    
  • Ensure events and digital innovations are advertised on appropriate forums and communicated to students, including CMS, Facebook, Twitter, Moodle, newsletters and flyers.  
  • Host guests, alumni, candidates, employers, applicants and parents in support of university events such as visit days, open days, job interviews and employer visits and innovation activities such as feedback sessions.  
  • Maintaining and updating web pages and student resources.  
  • Generate and collate creative content.

Person Specification

The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate the following:

Essential:

  • Demonstrate appropriate desire and interest in working with students, graduates and staff to support IT Partnering and Innovation objectives.
  • Can demonstrate (with examples) experience of marketing, design and administrative processes.
  • Experience with or willingness to learn Microsoft Office software, Adobe Creative Suite and a wide range of communication channels including social media platforms and tools.
  • Demonstrate how and when you have delivered excellent customer care including experience of dealing with a range of customer queries/concerns in a professional manner.
  • The ability to work in a team with a calm and professional manner and a flexible approach to work.

Desirable:

  • Can demonstrate (with examples) the ability to present information in an accurate and appropriate format.
  • Have experience updating web pages through a Content Management System and creating and updating visually appealing marketing materials through different channels including social media such as Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and emerging technologies.
  • Have experience prioritising their workload to meet competing deadlines without close supervision.
  • Can share examples of experience managing tasks in the workplace, other peoples’ busy diaries, a team or events.
