Role & Department Overview

The Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences is looking for someone to provide hands-on and logistical support with a large office relocation project over the summer on a flexible and part-time basis.
 
Start Date: 14 July 2025
End Date: 19 September 2025
Interview Date: 7 July 2025
Working Pattern: Variable during 9-5 Mon-Fri, up to a total of 70 hours for the period of work
Location: On the Lancaster University campus

Job Description

Tasks will typically include:
  • Packing and labelling office items and equipment
  • Conducting equipment and furniture audits
  • Archiving materials
  • Unpacking items
  • Ensuring rubbish is recycled or disposed of in a sustainable way
  • Supporting the Faculty Resource Manager to ensure a smooth and efficient transition

Person Specification

Essential:
  • Reliable and punctual
  • Available to work over July, August and September 2025*
  • Organised and methodical approach to work
  • Confident user of Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Comfortable with physical work, including lifting and carrying items
* hours are flexible, please state in your application when you are (un)available to work during the week and note any periods of a week or more that you will be unavailable.
 
Desirable:
  • Experience of previous moving or logistics work
