The Network includes disabled persons, disabled person’s organizations, NGOs, policy makers, education and healthcare professionals, and academics.
We host regular online workshops, international events, and a biannual conference. We also collaborate on funded research projects and fund small initiatives to improve the lives of disabled persons in sub-Saharan Africa.
The conference will bring together researchers in the fields of genetics, ophthalmology, dermatology and oncology, those in the arts, humanities and social sciences, albinism advocates, associations and human rights defenders, to share expertise and new research findings. The event marks 10 years of the mandate of the UN Independent Expert on the Rights of Persons with Albinism. The current UN Expert will be one of our keynote speakers.
