Role & Department Overview

The Admissions team, based within External Relations, are looking for an individual to join the team for a 12-week period from June to September 2025. 
 
Location: On Campus - with some opportunity to work from home where appropriate
Hours: Full Time (36.5 hours per week: Monday to Wednesday 9:00 - 17:30 and Thursday - Friday 9:00 - 17:00). There will be some weekend and out of hours work required during our busiest period in August
Pay Rate: £12.54 per hour £1.51 Holiday pay (£14.05 with holiday pay)

Job Description

As Admissions Coordinator, you will work within our busy Undergraduate Admissions team to support with a high volume of application processing and enquiry management, reporting to the Admissions Operations Officer.
 
Tasks will typically include:
  • To provide support for the admissions process, acting as the first point of contact for applicants via email and telephone.
  • To reply to standard enquiries in a timely manner, and to triage non-standard enquiries on a daily basis.
  •  To assist with advising applicants on various areas of the admissions process.
  • To process applications to the University efficiently, with a focus on process relating to Clearing and CAS and visa checks.
  •  To create and maintain records in the LUSI admissions systems.
  •  To be responsible for sending out appropriate correspondence to applicants in relation to the above processes.  
  • To undertake any other duties appropriate to the grade of the post, as required by the Head of Admissions or their delegate.

Person Specification

We are looking for a motivated and committed individual with the following skills: 
    • Experience of using a range of standard ICT applications including Microsoft Word and Excel, with the ability to learn new software applications
    •  Ability to work with a high degree of accuracy and close attention to detail
    •  Ability to work effectively as part of a busy wider team and have a flexible approach to work
    • Excellent literacy and written and verbal communication skills
    •  Good customer service skills, and the ability to deal with people in a professional, friendly and supportive manner 
    • Experience of working in an administrative role in a similar environment would be desirable, but not essential. We are also interested in considering individuals who perhaps do not have direct experience, but who can clearly demonstrate that they have the necessary skills.
