Lancaster Arts is based at Lancaster University in the north-west of England and encompasses the Nuffield Theatre, the Great Hall and the Peter Scott Gallery as well as locations on campus and in the region, in natural settings, community centres, carparks, and historic buildings. Their artistic programme includes commissions, Creative Gatherings and artist residencies alongside our presentational programme.  They have a long-established artistic reputation for the creation, development and presentation of cutting-edge contemporary arts and are proud to be part of Arts Council England’s portfolio as a combined arts organisation.

The Project Support Intern will support the administration, marketing and production aspects of a national commission, entitled Nature Calling in partnership with the National Landscape Association. This commission is entitled Are You Lost? and takes place from May to the end of August in the Forest of Bowland including towns such as Burnley and Nelson as well as sites within the Forest of Bowland such as Gisburn Country Park.  This role will involve regular off-site working.

Working Hours / Pattern:
70-hours in total over c. 12 weeks. Variable working hours, to be agreed with Lancaster Arts. Based at Lancaster University with regular work off-site on locations around the Forest of Bowland.

Job Description

Main Responsibilities:
 
Administrative 
  •  Support the Associate Creative Producer by responding to enquiries from the public 
  • Regular check-ins with core delivery team to support where appropriate
  • Collate mailing list sign-ups and audience survey responses at all events
Production 
  • Working alongside volunteers and other staff as instructed by the Associate Creative Producer and Production Assistant.
Marketing 
  • Documenting activity and gathering content for social media as instructed by the Communications and Marketing Manager
  • Supporting the creation of signage for all sites of delivery (directions, health and safety etc) 
  • Engaging with members of the public and participants to gather feedback about the project
