The successful candidates should be able to demonstrate the following:
Essential
- A current undergraduate or postgraduate student at Lancaster University.
- A clear and appropriate rationale for applying for the role.
- Good communication skills and the ability to express information and ideas in a clear manner.
- Be reliable, trustworthy and honest.
- Have a friendly and positive approach to work.
Desirable
- Studying in the School of Mathematical Sciences, on either a scheme administered by this department or a joint scheme to which this department contributes.
- Experience of helping younger students understand mathematical concepts.
- Experience of working with young people.
- Experience of service as a student ambassador at Lancaster.
- Experience of giving a Lancaster campus tour to prospective students (some of those recruited may be asked to give a campus tour to some of the event participants).
- An enhanced DBS certificate issued within the last three years (this is not required but if you have an enhanced DBS certificate then please mention this in your application).
Successful candidates will be serving as role models for the event participants.
