Role & Department Overview

This position is open to non-students only
 
To provide student facing support to our Undergraduate and Postgraduate teams in examination periods.
 
To act as a point of contact for student queries regarding assessment period, and to support the academic quality and rigor of the assessment process.
 
The post holder will work within one of the teaching departments within the Management School, and will support the already well established teams in this peak period.
 
Preferred start date: 19th May 2025
 
Expected end date: 9th August 2025
 
Interviews to take place: 7th May 2025
 
Weekly hours: up to 28 hours per week
 
Location: Remotely (in the UK) and on the Lancaster University campus

Job Description

  • Be a first point of contact for all current students during examination period, keeping them informed and disseminating information in a timely way.
  • Work with the Student Programmes Team and relevant academic colleagues to administer:

Responding to student emails and queries in relation to assessment period

Collation of examination marks

Processing and uploading of marks

Quality assurance processes


Person Specification

  • Proven track record working in a busy office environment 

  • Ability to convey an appropriate rationale and interest in applying for this particular post

  • High level of general office skills including IT competency across a range of applications

  • Excellent communication skills in face-to-face, electronic, telephone and written communications, including the ability to communicate information in a clear and appropriate manner
