The Opportunity: The ITPI team in Information Systems Services (ISS) is seeking a talented Junior UX Designer to support the development of user-centric solutions across various digital platforms.

 

In this role, you will work closely with our team of professionals to enhance the usability and accessibility of our applications, positively impacting the university community.

Job Description

As a Junior UX Designer, your main responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand user requirements and project objectives.

  • Assisting in the creation of wireframes, mockups, and prototypes to visualize user interfaces and interactions.

  • Conducting user research and usability testing to gain insights and validate design decisions.

  • Participating in the iterative design process, collecting feedback, and iterating designs based on user input.

  • Assisting in the creation and maintenance of design guidelines and style guides.

  • Collaborating with developers to ensure the successful implementation of designs.

  • Keeping up to date with industry best practices and emerging trends in UX design. 

Person Specification

To succeed in this role, the ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications and attributes: 

 Essential (Please reference in your covering letter):
  • Understanding of user-centred design principles and methodologies.
  • Proficiency in design and prototyping tools such as Adobe XD, Sketch, or Figma.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and independently on assigned tasks.

  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to deliver high-quality designs within given deadlines.

  • Excellent communication skills to effectively articulate design decisions and receive feedback.

  • Enthusiasm for learning and staying updated with the latest UX design trends and techniques.
Desirable (Please reference in your covering letter):
  • Familiarity with HTML and CSS, enabling collaboration with developers for seamless implementation.

  • Experience with usability testing methods and tools.

  • Knowledge of accessibility standards and guidelines.
  • Basic understanding of front-end development principles.
