Role & Department Overview

The Event and Community Assistant will provide support to the Morecambe Bay Curriculum team with the organisation and running of the annual Morecambe Bay Curriculum conference, to be held at Lancaster University on Friday 4th July 2025. 
 
The appointed person will be required to help with arrangements in advance of this large-scale event, and to attend the event on the day. Around 200 participants from early years settings, primary and secondary schools, further education colleges, and community/environmental  groups and organisations from around Lancashire and Cumbria are expected to attend. 

Duties will include procurement of equipment and resources, producing delegate packs and badges, and liaison with speakers, session contributors and service providers. On the day, duties will include assisting with registration, directing delegates to facilities and sessions, and helping to set up (at the start) and clear up (at the end).

Job Description

Person Specification

  • Current UK-based Lancaster University undergraduate/postgraduate student.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Interest in environmental education. 
  • Good time management skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Intuitive and collaborative.
  • Available to attend the event on Friday 4th July.
