Role & Department Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for 2x current international pathway students to join the central International Pathways Team as a Student Ambassador to support the team for the academic year 2024/25 (including the possibility to work during vacation periods). 

PLEASE NOTE: These Student Ambassador positions are only open to current 1+3 and 2+2 students from our International Pathway partners.

Location: Remotely (in the UK) and on the Lancaster University campus

Job Description

Main Duties:

  • Represent the International Pathways team as a Student Ambassador, acting as a positive role model on digital platforms, as well as in-person events and visits when required.

  • Be comfortable taking part in digital events such as online information sessions for prospective students from partner institutions, providing a friendly and approachable welcome for prospective students/parents/teachers.

  • Be confident in the use of WeChat and other social media platforms, answering prospective student queries and sharing your Lancaster story.

  • Share your enthusiasm for higher education and positive experiences of Lancaster University, at events and activities throughout the year.

  • Assist the team in the creation of marketing materials for prospective pathway students.

  • Promote the International Pathway’s Team’s ethos and opportunities and enhance its reputation at events.

  • Provide administrative support for staff where required.

Person Specification

  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and work to defined schedules, mostly autonomously.

  • A friendly approach to dealing with prospective students/parents/teachers.

  • Enthusiastic attitude about your studies, LU teaching and research. 

  • Excellent communication skills with confidence in talking to large groups.

  • Good knowledge of Lancaster University, including the campus, facilities and student community. 

  • Flexible approach to work, as well as honest, reliable and punctual.

  • Be creative and innovative in creating social media posts to promote Lancaster University.
