Message from Wiseward about the role:
We know we are not good at getting the best out of social media. We understand its crucial importance to a successful business. The key and core theme of this internship is to win new business and increase our revenue by creating a marketing plan that includes a clear strategy to improve our social media profile that will form part of the mix of driving new business to our website.

The successful applicant will need to show that they have a good grasp of our business and that they are able to demonstrate that they have a well thought through strategy to not only drive traffic to our our website but convert new website traffic into actual bookings for courses.

It is important that you can clearly demonstrate that you not only have a feel for our website but that you create a bespoke marketing / media plan for each segment of our market. We think our market segments as follows:

1. Language Experiences - eg Italian and for Wine Lovers, French and Discover Provence

2. Language and Ac(vity Programmes for young people eg German and Urban Arts for Teenagers, English and Soccer with THFC

3. Language refresher courses for teachers of Foreign Languages eg German for Teachers of German

4. Intensive Language Immersion Courses for GCSE, A level and Undergraduate students eg Intensive Spanish

5. English for Commercial Pilots and Air Traffic Controllers

6. Language and Actvity Programmes specifically for the over 50’s

You will have a ‘blank canvas’ to work with which will give you the opportunity to show case your social media and marketing skills, your love of languages and your understanding of the importance of a targeted and specific approach to each market segment will be self-evident at the interview. 

You will work with a colleague and you will lead the project. 
There is a Wiseward marketing budget of GBP 500.00 for this project. So spend wisely!!

Weekly hours: variable (to be discussed with Wiseward)
 
Location: Entirely remote (in the UK)

Job Description

  • Create a social media / marketing plan for each market segment. For each market segment you need to agree: What you plan to do. Why you plan to do it . How you plan to do it. When and how often you plan to do it and What it will cost.
  • Decide what platforms are relevant to, and will resonate with, potential purchasers of courses and programmes in each market segment.
  • Create, post copy and blogs that are relevant to each market segment. Ask yourself what else could we be doing to win business in each segment.
  • Think about and suggest ways that will measure and validate the success of your plan for each segment. Remember that success means new business and a measurable increase in bookings.
  • Working together as a team with your colleague and with Wiseward is fundamental to the success of this project, as is your leadership.
  • Regular liaison with, and support from Wiseward.

Person Specification

  • The student / students that undertake this project will need to have a good grasp of social media and display a passion and real understanding of the critical importance that social media marketing plays in driving incremental revenue. 
  • A love of modern languages and travel would be significant added advantage.
  • Understanding of what is needed to lead a small team and deliver successful outcomes.
