The Decolonising Lancaster University (DLU) Network A staff-student informal network that aims to share practices and ideas about how we can decolonise (address the legacies of slavery, colonialism, racism and empire) our teaching, research, administrative and engagement work within Lancaster University and beyond.

Job Description

This role will involve working alongside the FASS decolonisation representative to create and communicate digital content via the web, Microsoft teams and social media channels.
 
Main Responsibilities:
 
  • Update, develop and maintain the DLU website
  • Operate and manage the DLU X/Twitter account
  • Operate and manage the DLU Facebook account
  • Operate and manage the DLU Instagram and other social media accounts
  • Create posters and other resources for digital publicity
  • Link the DLU Microsoft teams site information with social media accounts as appropriate.
  • Publicise events including distribution of flyers, where necessary.

Person Specification

The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Excellent Graphic, Web and IT skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of using various forms of social media
  • Good communication skills, both oral and written. 
  • Good interpersonal and presentation skills. 
  • Time management skills. 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 
  • Self-motivation.

  • Qualitative Research-related skills
  • Artistic and creative skills
  • Work experience in related field.
  • Knowledge and understanding of decolonisation
