Role & Department Overview

Criminology Careers are looking to hire a research assistant to help create a Lancaster University Criminology Alumni Network. The research assistant’s role will be to help Criminology create more connections with alumni and to identify the career trajectories of these former students. In creating a network, this in turn will help support the current students to identify potential career pathways based on those that did the same degree programmes.

The research assistant’s role will involve working with data from alumni services in the first instance and sourcing new data through mapping recent LU Criminology graduates and alumni on LinkedIn. We would like to create an LU Criminology Alumni Network, as well as a database, recording information about their career paths since graduation. The research assistant will be instrumental in forming this database, finding key contacts, and potentially contacting alumni to support current students.

This micro internship is for 30 hours in total (including 4 hours for training) and is aimed at students who may not have had any professional prior work experience and are looking for an opportunity that supports them to develop their employability skills.
