Role & Department Overview

High Points Outdoor Education and Training www.highpoints.co.uk is a small business based in Kendal that provides outdoor activities, Duke of Edinburgh’s Award expeditions and staff training to schools in the North West. The two directors work from their homes and have a team of regular freelance staff, a store of kit, vans and trailers. Clients are met at the best venue for their activity – this is usually in the Lake District or Yorkshire Dales. High Points is an amalgamation of two well-established businesses which have been working together for two years. The organisation is growing steadily with a mixture of regular, long-standing clients and new enquiries coming in steadily. The organisation has now reached the stage where existing systems are not adequate and is hindering business success and operational management. This internship project will support High Points in identifying and implementing appropriate systems and processes in place which will facilitate business expansion.
