Meantime Information Technologies Ltd provides IT and cloud infrastructure design, development and implementation services for a range of sectors. Many of Meantime’s products are bespoke and driven by specific client requirements. Customers include charities, franchise organisations, SMEs, the NHS and both Dublin and Heathrow airports. Location: Remotely (in the UK) and at the premises of an external employer

Job Description

This project will focus on a Software as a Service (SaaS) auditing tool, AMaT (https://amat.co.uk), developed for the UK NHS. The successful intern will regression test one or more modules of the system against pre-built test scripts.

This will entail:

  • Signing of an NDA and studying of MIT GDPR and ISO27001 policies prior to project start
  • Completion of an induction and a GDPR and ISO27001 test to permit working on the software

Assuming tests are completed successfully:

  • Validation that the existing test scripts cover all of the functionality of the system
  • Completion of the tests against those scripts
  • Production of OR (observation report) test findings for correction by development team
  • Re-test and sign-off of the OR's to complete the project

Following this internship there is a full-time job opportunity / role: Tester and Data Analyst. This role will involve:

  • Developing an understanding of data security, specifically GDPR and ISO 27001 (training provided).
  • Developing an understanding of web accessibility guidelines specifically WCAG 2.1 (AA) (training provided).
  • Creating, maintaining and executing test scripts.
  • Liaising with the development team to resolve defects and queries.
  • Carrying out corrections to data.
  • Managing elements of standing data in live systems.

It is envisaged that this internship will run over summer 2024 and there is an allocation of 130 hours available. There is a related job opportunity available at the end of the summer, which may suit someone delivering this internship project. This internship project is supported by Westmorland and Furness Council through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.

Person Specification

  • No specialist IT knowledge required
  • Good understanding of web browsers and familiarity with the web as a medium
  • A highly motivated individual, capable of working "under their own steam" with "light touch" supervision
  • Someone analytical, organised and with good attention to detail
