Lancaster University's Retail team have a number of exciting opportunities to work in the University's bars and food outlets across campus this academic year. They are offering outstanding development opportunities with varied and flexible hours. You will work as and when required based on demand and hours can fluctuate and are not guaranteed.

 
 

The Retail Services department oversees the college bars and a variety of University run cafes. These roles will be reporting to one of our unit managers and will work within our existing team of full time members of staff and students

You must have great verbal communication skills, be a capable multi-tasker, thrive under pressure, be a great team player and be committed to delivering the highest standards of customer service.

We are looking for dedicated Kitchen Porters/Prep Chefs to join our teams.

 
Start Date: 7th September 2022
End Date: 2nd July 2023
Location: On the Lancaster University campus
Typical Hours per Week: 8+. Hours offers can fluctuate, are not guaranteed and based on demand and your own commitments so that the role fits round your availability. 

Job Description

Main responsibilities: 
  • Clean pots and pans as required
  • Ensure daily and weekly cleaning tasks are completed
  • Follow minimum food safety standards as set out in the food safety management system
  • Follow the safe guidelines on chemical handling
  • Assist where necessary with simple food preparation tasks
