Role & Department Overview

GDA Solicitors Limited, are looking for a Legal Assistant to work mainly with the Solicitor, on day to day matters, with regards to handling cases from start to finish.

You require, no prior experience, as all training will be given. 

We also hope through this, the successful candidate will experience what it’s like working in a law firm. 

Areas covered mainly are property law, wills and probate and civil litigation. 

The successful candidate will always be working with a member of staff. 


Pay rate: £9.73 per hour plus £1.17 holiday pay 

Working Hours:  
Initially 2 days per week from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m., with lunch hour included in that. 

So, that will be 12 hours a week ( Wednesday and Thursday). 

However if this is not ideal, please let us know in your application as we may consider other days too. 

Duration of role:  Temporary ongoing, with the possibility of the employing the role on a longer term basis.

Job Description

  • To operate as a legal assistant with full training given

  • To set up/open new files
  • Send out letters such as client care letters etc

  • Sit in with a Solicitor on meetings with clients

  • Conduct searchesprepare documentation etc for conveyancing matters, lasting powers of attorney

  • Prepare cases for court proceedings; court documents

  • Also, opportunities to attend relevant courses, seminars

Person Specification

We are very much looking for an individual who is first and foremost honest, hardworking and enthusiastic, to learn and be trained to become a competent Solicitor. 

Willingness to work with others is crucial as well.
