Role & Department Overview

Lancaster University's Management School Undergraduate Office has responsibility for supporting over 900 undergraduate Business and Management students across a number of degree schemes. The team is looking to recruit a UG Programmes Assistant to provide  administrative support during the busy end of year/exam period.

The successful candidate will be required to work on campus at least 3 days a week.
 
Please Note: This is a non-student role. Applications from students will not be considered. 
 
Preferred Start Date: From w/c 6th June 2022
End Date: 15th July 2022
Interview Date: Wednesday 25th May (in person)
Location: On campus with opportunity to work remotely 
Hours per Week: Full time (36.5hrs)

Job Description

  • Provide support to students by responding to email enquiries.
  • Monitor 'Connect Lancaster' (student communication portal); taking appropriate action or signposting to the relevant member of staff.
  • Support the UG Programmes Officer & Manager with the preparation of sample packs for the Exam Board.
  • Produce information relating to final degree results for students and support activities within the UG office for graduating students.
  • Undertake other duties appropriate to the role as required by the line manager or other senior members of the team.

Person Specification

The post holder will be able to demonstrate:
  • An appropriate rationale and interest in applying for this particular post.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Empathy towards individuals with personal challenges.
  • Effective numeracy and literacy skills (GCSE Maths and English or equivalent qualification)
  • Good IT skills including the use of Microsoft Office suite, including Outlook, Word & Excel
  • Experience of using database packages and the potential to learn Lancaster University systems such as the student records database (LUSI).
  • The ability to quickly respond to verbal and written requests/enquiries and to produce information in an appropriate format, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
