RAID Student Ambassador 2021/22

An exciting opportunity has arisen to become part of the University's Recruitment, Admissions and International Office Student Ambassador team.

RAID are looking for around 50-75 ambassadors to join their existing team, and are looking for friendly, reliable and engaging students with a real passion for Lancaster University to deliver campus tours and work various events engaging with prospective students throughout the year such as Open Days and Applicant Visit Days.

Major Duties:

• To provide consistently great quality campus tours to prospective students and their parents;
• To share positive experiences of, and enthusiasm for, Higher Education and Lancaster University specifically at events and activities throughout the year;
• To act as an Ambassador for the University, promoting its ethos, opportunities and services and enhancing its reputation at events.
• To answer any questions visitors may have professionally and positively and share personal experiences of life in Lancaster;
• To have good knowledge of Lancaster University and be able to share this knowledge with visitors;
• To support and assist at events where required, e.g. Open Days; Applicant Visit Days; HE fairs; UCAS fairs; student life talks etc.;
• To work as part of a team and lead by example, delivering consistently good service;
• To support Outreach and Widening Participation events and tasks where required;
• Any other duties as may reasonably be required by the GRO team.

• Registered as a current Lancaster University degree student
• Experience of liaising with students, staff members and external individuals
• Good knowledge of Lancaster University including the campus, systems, facilities and student life
• Experience of providing effective administrative support, including good knowledge of Microsoft Office, in particular use of Word, Excel, email and the Internet
• Experience of providing advice and guidance
• Experience of working in a customer facing environment and providing excellent customer service
• Excellent face to face, telephone, electronic and written communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong organisational and time management skills
• Excellent presentation and public speaking skills
• Desire and ability to work both in a team and independently
• Engaging personality and ability to communicate with a diverse range of people and ages
• Ability to solve problems and think creatively
