An exciting opportunity has arisen for a person to gain valuable experience as a risk assessment competent person in our Safety and Compliance Team. 
 
As a result we are looking for someone who is focused on improvement and self-development. The candidate will be an excellent communicator, a confident self-starter with initiative and have a passion for health and safety.
 
Working pattern: 36 hours per week
Approx start date: 31 March 2020
Approx end date: 29 May 2020

Job Description

  • To prepare and review both COSHH and General Risk Assessments to the specific needs of the facilities departments/teams and within agreed time frames. 
  • To liaise with a wide range of departments to prepare job specific risk assessments, e.g. cleaners, electricians, plumbers and multi task general maintenance operations
  • To prepare action plans following the preparation of risk assessments to agreed timescales. 

Person Specification

  • The individual must have a sound understanding and application in Health and Safety with a relevant professional qualification; NEBOSH certified or equivalent. 
  •  The Individual must be competent in carrying out and completing risk assessments in addition to the control of substances hazardous to health.
  • A sound understanding of the COSHH Regulations 2002
  • Be able to work under their own initiative and co-ordinate and co-operate with supervisors and managers.
  • Be able to present findings to a range of interested parties.
  • To be an excellent all-round communicator with exceptional written and verbal skills.
  • To have an excellent knowledge of Microsoft products including Outlook and Office 365.
